Clint Smith has been named the recipient of the Outstanding New Undergraduate Advisor Award. He will be honored at Founders Day on Thursday, Feb. 19.

Smith joined University College Academic Advising in May 2012 as the liaison for both the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences and the School of Biological Sciences. He began working with Illinois State’s international student population, and became the assigned academic advisor for all undergraduate international exchange students during the Spring 2013 semester. He also continues to serve as the liaison for the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences.

In addition to his advising duties, Smith serves on several committees at Illinois State.  He is especially proud of the Human Library Committee and the event they hosted during the Fall 2014 semester. The Human Library uses discussion to promote dialogue and understanding between first-year students and members of the Bloomington-Normal community who have faced discrimination or prejudice.
