Student veterans will learn about transferring their military experience into civilian careers and have an opportunity to network with area employers during the Bridges to Employment event from 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 31, in the Old Main Room of Illinois State University’s Bone Student Center. The event is free but registration is required. Student veterans can find registration information online.

The event will feature a panel discussion on employment for veterans. Panelists will include Matt Eickhoff, treasury center supervisor for cash management, Caterpillar Inc.; Alan Connolly, readjustment counseling technician, Peoria Vet Center, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs; Jessica Crockett, transition patient advocate, Danville Medical Center, U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs; and Todd Jones, founder, Warrior Scuba Project.

Veterans in attendance will also network with representatives from area employers and service agencies including Caterpillar, Inc.; Illinois State Police; First American Bank; Discover Financial Services; Growmark, Inc.; Social Security Administration; Blue Cross Blue Shield;
Office of Health Information Technology; AFNI, Inc.; Illinois State University; U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (Danville Medical Center & Peoria Vet Center); Country Financial and American Legion.
