Ryan Allured from the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics will present X-ray Astronomical Instrumentation: Current Status and Future at 4 p.m. Tuesday March 31, in Moulton Hall, room 214. This is a part of the spring 2015 Physics Colloquium Series, sponsored by the Department of Physics.

Allured is a Leon Van Speybroeck Fellow at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics where he works to develop X-ray optics for astronomical applications. He is an Illinois State alumnus, who did his post-doctoral and doctoral work at the University of Iowa, where he worked on VERITAS, an array of ground-based telescopes for gamma-ray astronomy located in Southern Arizona.
