Illinois State safety alumnus John Lee ’89 has received the Governor’s Award for Contributions in Health and Safety. The award was presented to Lee by Gov. Bruce Rauner and Illinois Department of Labor Director Hugo Chaviano at a ceremony March 4 in Peoria at the Downstate Illinois Occupational Safety and Health Day.

Lee is the director of safety-health-environmental services for the Grain and Feed Association of Illinois in Springfield. He was nominated for this award by Jeff Adkisson, CAE executive vice president of the Grain and Feed Association, for his contributions to safety and health in the commercial grain industry as well as his work with the Grain Handling Safety Coalition.
