In December 2016, the U.S. President-elect will receive the sixth edition of Global Trends, the National Intelligence Council’s (NIC) series aimed at providing a framework for thinking about the future.

The NIC’s Suzanne Fry will speak on Global Trends at Illinois State as part of the International Seminar Series at noon Wednesday, April 1, in the Prairie Room of the Bone Student Center.

The Global Trends reports inform the development of U.S. national security strategy – as well as strategic thinking worldwide – by providing an assessment of the range of possible futures over a 20-year time horizon.

Fry is director of the Strategic Futures Group at the NIC, where she is responsible for the Global Trends series. Fry received her Ph.D. in political science from New York University and a bachelor’s degree in government and international studies from the University of Notre Dame.

Her work with the NIC seeks to explore questions about advances in communications technology and how they will transform societies and the relationship between citizens and governments.

The talk is part of the International Studies Seminar Series, sponsored by the Office of International Studies and Programs. The event is free and open to the public.
