Illinois State University anthropology graduate and Illinois AmeriCorps member Cecilia Montesdeoca ’13 will receive the Governor’s Volunteer Service Award at the Governor’s Mansion in Springfield on April 20. She completed a term of service with the Illinois Public Health Association AmeriCorps Program working in public health emergency preparedness at the McLean County Health Department after graduating from Illinois State.
Montesdeoca’s service term with the McLean County Health Department ended in August 2014. She is currently serving another AmeriCorps term with the National Civilian Community Corps Southwest Region in Denver.
