Illinois State University’s Feminist Led Activist Movement to Empower (F.L.A.M.E.) will present Eve Ensler’s The Vagina Monologues at 7 p.m. Friday, March 27, in the Circus Room of the Bone Student Center.

The Vagina Monologues is a series of monologues read by a variety of women who tell their life experiences. Each monologue addresses a women’s concern or social injustice. F.L.A.M.E. enacts a production of Eve Ensler’s script to raise awareness of domestic violence and abuse and correlates with the global V-Day movement.

Prior to the event there will be a “Vagina Fair” from 6 to 7 p.m., which will give those in attendance the chance to purchase merchandise and raffle tickets from representing organizations. All the proceeds from F.L.A.M.E.’s production will go toward ending violence against women and girls. This year’s chosen charity is the YWCA Stepping Stones and CDV Neville House.

Ticket price will be $8 per person if purchased before the event through the Women’s and Gender Studies Program office or at one of the ticket pre-sale events. Pre-sales will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 25 in Schroeder Hall; 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, March 26, in Stevenson Hall; and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, March 27, in the Airport Lounge in Centennial Hall. Tickets will also be sold at the door for $9.

Due to mature content, bringing young children is not recommended.
