Illinois State University’s Art History Society has organized the Envisioning Poetry exhibition to be held March 21 through April 23, on the main floor in Milner Library.

This exhibit will display work from Illinois State students, alumni and faculty. Envisioning Poetry features 10 artists and nine poets who worked together to make creative pairings of visual art and the written word.

“The purpose of this exhibit is to address how both poetry and visual art can be used to represent multiple themes, narratives and emotions,” said Art History Society student Lexie Bragg. In addition, it gives students the opportunity to display their work and obtain a valuable experience.

Related programming will include a poetry reading at 5 p.m. on April 23, in the exhibition area on Milner’s main floor. The event is sponsored by Milner Library and the Friends of the Arts.
