Supplementary to the LEAPForward Initiative, Illinois State is also enhancing its overall human resource information system’s capabilities.

Upgrades to the existing system will increase the university’s business agility through integrating cloud, mobile, social, analytics, and business intelligence. Like the LEAPForward Initiative, these improvements will ensure ISU maintains a distinct advantage in an increasingly competitive global higher education market.

Maintenance costs on an older version of ISU’s Human Capital Management (HCM 9.0) system were set to become prohibitively expensive for ISU beginning this summer. An upgrade to HCM 9.2 will bring the university up to date with current releases and patches, and provide additional potential for future projects to take advantage of new functionality. In addition, a shift to the cloud will reduce operation, hardware, and maintenance costs.

Ultimately, this project will:

  • Set up future mobile-friendly capabilities within the HCM system
  • Provide detailed intelligence that can lead to improved business performance
  • Save the university time and money

Administrative Technologies (AT) is actively working with university business partners, including Human Resources, Payroll, and the Budget Office, to evaluate existing customizations for removal, retrofit, or improvement in the upgraded version. Those business partners are also providing feedback to AT on customizations that may no longer be needed.
