Remember all the help you had when you first moved into the Illinois State residence halls? Now it’s time to show our next Redbird class why Illinois State is the place to call home!

Become a Curb Bird volunteer with University Housing Services. Curb Birds will work Wednesday, August 12, through Friday, August 14, at assigned residence halls. A Curb Bird will be one of the first individuals new Redbirds and their families meet! Curb Birds also help unload belongings from vehicles, check out and retrieve carts, coordinate elevators, and answer questions.

There are also select positions available for those interested in becoming a Curb Bird coordinator.

Coordinators assume all the responsibilities of a Curb Bird while supervising Curb Bird volunteers. This includes facilitating Curb Bird training, developing schedules, and serving as the liaison for the move-in director and volunteers.

Become a Curb Bird, meet new friends, build your resume, and help future Redbirds!

By becoming a Curb Bird or Curb Bird coordinator, you will receive early move-in on Tuesday, August 11; a free T-shirt; a free meal (multiple free meals as a coordinator); a survival pack (coordinators); volunteer hours with your registered student organization; and a chance to win a free semester of books (up to $500).

What’s more important is that you will have a chance to meet new Redbird families and new friends, and develop leadership skills.
