Faculty and staff are encouraged to share Voices of Discovery applications with their students.
Voices of Discovery is a seven-week dialogue group led by trained facilitators where participants share personal viewpoints, gain self-awareness, and become empowered to make real-world changes and advance social justice.
“This is a great opportunity for students to expand their own understanding of diversity/social justice issues and to complement their academic studies through experiential learning. These intergroup dialogues are face-to-face, small group discussions which are open, honest, challenging and reflective around issues that exist between people,” said Student Counseling Services staff psychologist Jason Vasquez, who helps coordinate the program. “We believe that through interacting with each other, individuals undergo the process of intergroup discovery by getting to know others both on a personal and group basis.”
