The annual Concerts on the Quad series returns to Illinois State University on Mondays this summer with performances ranging from ballads to Broadway and klezmer to calypso.

The concerts, which are free and open to the public, will be at 7 p.m. on five consecutive Mondays in front of the castle-like setting of Cook Hall on the northwest corner of the University’s Quad. Audience members are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets. Scheduled performers are:

Chicago Klezmer Ensemble, June 29
Kick off the season listening to an excellent ensemble that performs klezmer, traditional Jewish music, in a fun and exciting way.

Jodi Beach Trio, July 6
Let Jodi Beach and her trio take you through a lifetime of memories with elegant ballads, beautiful love songs, warm swaying Latin rhythms, and hot stomping swings.

Rush/Chappell Calypso Panorama, July 13
Listen to an evening of calypsos, jazz, and popular tunes from renowned percussionists Robert Chappell and Tim Rush.

Evening of Jazz: Kevin Hart and the Vibe Tribe, July 20
Join Illinois State University faculty members Kevin Hart and Tom Marko and the rest of the Vibe Tribe for a night of cool jazz.

Singing Under the Stars, July 27
Illinois State University faculty and guests sing favorites from the operatic and Broadway stages.
