An upcoming workshop at Illinois State University’s Horticulture Center will teach participants to make a kokedama. Otherwise known as string gardening, a kokedama involves making the base of the plant into a ball, covering it with moss, and hanging the entire plant.

The workshop will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 11, in the Ropp Agriculture Building, Room 107F.

The workshop will be led by Jenna Rozum, an Illinois State alumna and staff member at the Missouri Botanical Garden. The cost of the workshop is $30. A ready-made kokedama can be purchased for $35. For reservations or ready-made orders, please email horticulture@ilstu.edu or call (309) 287-8768.

All proceeds benefit the Horticulture Center at Illinois State.
