Metcalf’s 6th and 7th grade Mandarin classes celebrated the Qi Xi Festival (Chinese Valentine’s Day) on August 20.

Following Chinese tradition, the students had a needlework competition to see who could be the first to get a thread through a few needle eyes. The students also made origami cranes. The crane is a symbol of the festival.

Mandarin classes are taught by Lin Lin.
