Todd Zakrajsek, Ph.D., associate professor and associate director of Fellowship Programs in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, will be the 2016 Teaching & Learning Symposium keynote speaker.
As a longtime educator and a scholar in the art and science of teaching and curriculum design, Zakrajsek will share his insights on this year’s theme, Imagining the Future, Reflecting on the Past.
Zakrajsek is the immediate past executive director of the Center for Faculty Excellence at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prior to his work at UNC, he was the inaugural director of the Faculty Center for Innovative Teaching at Central Michigan University and the founding director of the Center for Teaching and Learning at Southern Oregon University, where he taught in the psychology department as a tenured associate professor.
Zakrajsek currently directs three National Lilly Conferences on College and University Teaching and Learning and one International Teaching Conference. He received his doctorate in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Ohio University. He has published and presented widely on the topic of curriculum design, effective teaching, and student learning.
The 2016 Teaching & Learning Symposium will be held January 6 at the Bloomington-Normal Marriott Hotel and Conference Center in Uptown Normal. This event is free for faculty, staff, and graduate students. Lunch will be provided. Registration will open in mid-October.
