Joe Fluder of SWCA Environmental Consultants, will give a presentation as part of the Geography/Geology/Geohydrology Explorations and Observations (GGGEO) series at 3 p.m. Friday, October 23, in Felmley Hall, room 133.

SWCA  provides comprehensive environmental planning, regulatory compliance, and natural and cultural resource management services to businesses and government clients across the United States. Fluder is SWCA’s chief operating officer with management responsibility for all of SWCA’s consulting offices. He is responsible for profit and loss, product quality, staff development, and overall financial performance, with an emphasis on market assessment and strategic planning and execution.

He received a bachelor’s degree in environmental geography from Illinois State and master’s degree in geography from the University of New Mexico. He has taught geography, geographic information systems, and natural resource courses at the University of New Mexico and Central New Mexico College, and he has co-authored peer-reviewed papers on fisheries and habitat restoration. He is a member of the Association of American Geographers (AAG), Southwest AAG, National Association of Environmental Professionals, and Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society.
