Homecoming reunions include Wright and Haynie, Alternative Breaks

Festivities for Homecoming 2015 includes reunions and milestone celebrations for Redbird alumni.

Alternative Break–15 years
Illinois State University Alternative Breaks program is celebrating 15 years of developing active citizens during Homecoming 2015 at an Alumni Tailgate event from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, October 24, at the Redbird Tent Zone.

All Alternative Breaks alumni are invited to stop by the Alternative Breaks tailgate for cookies and hot chocolate to reconnect with Alternative Breaks Redbirds, share past experiences, and meet current students. No registration is required.

Haynie and Wright Halls’ 50th Birthday Alumni Reception
Haynie and Wright Halls are celebrating 50 years during Homecoming 2015. Haynie and Wright alumni, University Housing alumni, and their guests are invited to enjoy a night of memories and mingling to Back the Birds from 6-8 p.m. Friday, October 23, in the Shawnee Room. Those attending should use Haynie or Wright Lobby to enter.

“This is an exciting year where we are celebrating a milestone for two of our residence halls here on campus,” said Michelle Fluty, University Housing marketing and assessment assistant director. “Both Haynie and Wright Hall are turning 50 and we are taking this opportunity to invite back our alumni that have lived in those halls.”

Alumni and friends can enjoy light appetizers, view photos from the past, receive Illinois State goodies, and take a tour of Haynie and Wright Hall.

Theatre of Ted to Celebrate 25 years
The student organization Theatre of Ted is celebrating 25 years during Homecoming 2015. Theatre of Ted alumni are invited to attend the celebration at 8 p.m. Saturday, October 24, in the Center for the Visual Arts, room 110. Registration is required.

The reception will be an opportunity to relive memories and reconnect with Theatre of Ted alumni as they celebrate the past and continue to encourage artistic expression for future Theatre of Ted members. It will be followed by a special edition Theatre of Ted performance.
