R.C. McBride will give a talk on local politics, sponsored by the American Democracy Project.

A member of the Normal Town Council, McBride will present “Civic Engagement and Local Politics” at 2 p.m. Thursday, November 12, in Schroeder Hall, room 112.
McBride, who also works as a director for Illinois State’s University Marketing and Communications, will address how local politics is often overshadowed by national politics, yet offers an opportunity to directly influence local policies and help people living in the community. He will offer advice on how people can become more engaged with the community.
