Campus Recreation will celebrate Rene Lockenour’s 27 years of service to Illinois State University with a reception at 2 p.m. Friday, December 4, in the Founders Suite of the Bone Student Center.

Lockenour has served Campus Recreation in a variety of roles, including her current position of senior associate director. She has received several awards for her distinguished service throughout her time at Illinois State, including the Civil Service Distinguished Service Award. Additionally, she has served as a guest lecturer and internship/fieldwork agency supervisor for the School of Kinesiology and Recreation.

“René has been one of the primary faces for Campus Recreation during her years with us,” said Executive Director-Campus Recreation and Student Fitness Center Dawn Sanner. “She leaves a legacy of success for our profession, our department, and our University.”
