Diversity Advocacy is seeking program proposals for the annual Black and Latino Male Summit that will run from 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Saturday, March 19, in the Old Main Room of the Bone Student Center.

This year’s theme is To Infinity and Beyond: The Journey to Manhood, which will focus on five pillars: accountability, wellness, wisdom, action, and unity.

This marks the fourth year of the summit, which provides a forum to support and equip men of African American and Latin descent with the tools necessary to thrive in society. The goals of the Summit are to raise awareness, create a sense of camaraderie, discuss issues pertinent to both cultures, and cultivate opportunities to build coalitions.

The summit organizers are currently seeking program proposals. They encourage submission of innovative proposals that address the conference’s focus on Black and Latino males in higher education as well as proposals that consider the pillars mentioned above.

Those interested in serving as a workshop presenter for this event, please complete the program proposal submission form here. Program proposals are due February 1.

The Black and Latino Male Summit is sponsored by Diversity Advocacy and The Black and Latino Male Movement. Questions can be forwarded to Shantira Norris at 438-8968.
