Molly Tesdall, a senior management major from Mackinaw, is featured in this month’s student spotlight. Tesdall first heard about the Dean of Students Office during Festival ISU where she visited the Leadership and Community Connections table. Recently, Tesdall has become a part of the Dean of Students Advisory Board and has been involved in ISULeads, Alternative Breaks, Club AB, Sister Circles, and the University Hearing Panel. She was also a Welcome Week intern. Not only is Tesdall heavily involved with the Dean of Students Office, she has also utilized the Off-Campus 101 sessions, which she found to be very helpful during her search for off-campus housing.

One important aspect of being involved with the Dean of Students Office that Tesdall enjoys is the opportunity to meet people from across campus. This has helped her become more outgoing and accepting of others.

A piece of advice that Tesdall offers to incoming freshmen is to try everything the Dean of Students has to offer, find one or two things you care about, and run with it. “It’s important to be become involved at ISU because it builds your leadership skills and prepares you for life after graduation.”
