The search for the Mennonite College of Nursing dean has been narrowed down to four candidates: Nancy Ridenour of the University of New Mexico; Jan Strom of Northern Illinois University; Gloria Jacobson of Saint Xavier University; and Judy Neubrander of Western Carolina University.

In an effort for the public and the campus community to learn more about the finalists in this search, open forums will be held February 1–4. The forums will be held as follows:

Nancy Ridenour – 2 p.m. Monday, February 1, Prairie Room North, Bone Student Center

Jan Strom – 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 2, Prairie Room North, Bone Student Center

Gloria Jacobson – 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 3, Prairie Room North, Bone Student Center

Judy Neubrander – 1:30 p.m. Thursday, February 4, Prairie Room North, Bone Student Center

Nancy Ridenour

Nancy Ridenour is dean and professor at the University of New Mexico College of Nursing. She received a bachelor’s degree in nursing, adult nurse practitioner degree, and master’s degree in nursing from the University of Colorado; and a Ph.D. in human development and family studies from Texas Tech University.  She joined the faculty at the University of New Mexico in 2008.

Jan Strom

Jan Strom is chair and professor for the School of Nursing and Health Studies at Northern Illinois University. She earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Michigan State University, a master’s degree in nursing from De Paul University, a master’s degree in public health from the University of Minnesota, and a Ph.D. in philosophy from the College of Nursing at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She joined the faculty at Northern Illinois University in 2012.

Gloria Jacobson

Gloria Jacobson is dean and professor at Saint Xavier University School of Nursing. She earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Northern Illinois University, a master’s degree in nursing from Rush University, and Ph.D. in nursing from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.  She joined the faculty at Saint Xavier University in 2009.

Judy Neubrander

Judy Neubrander is director of the School of Nursing and professor at Western Carolina University.  She earned a family nurse practitioner degree from the University of Alabama, a bachelor’s degree in nursing from William Jewell College, a master’s degree in education and adult health from the University of Kansas, and an Ed.D. in adult and community college from North Carolina State University.
