This week, the Office of International Studies and Programs (OISP) welcomed new Associate Director Yimin Wang.  OISP, which is currently located on the second floor of Fell Hall, offers a variety of programs and services to international and domestic students to assist them in internationalizing their education.

Prior to joining Illinois State University, Yimin served as associate director for University of Illinois’s Center for East Asian and Pacific Studies, which is a U.S. Department of Education designated Title VI National Resource Center in East Asian Studies. Originally from China, Wang started her career in international education and educational exchange at the National Institute of Education in Singapore in 2005.

Wang has a bachelor’s degree in English language and literature from Lanzhou University in China, a master’s degree in East Asian Studies and Cultural Studies from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, and a Ph.D. in Education Policy Studies with a concentration on international and comparative education from Indiana University, Bloomington. She has also received several awards, including The American Association of University Women (AAUW) dissertation fellowship in 2012, and the Overseas Young Chinese Foundation-Ford Foundation International Teaching Fellowship in 2012.
