Metcalf Scholastic Bowl is set to begin a new season.

Scholastic Bowl is an Illinois Elementary School Association sponsored competition in which students answer questions and solve problems in various fields of study. The Metcalf School Scholastic Bowl team is open to students in grades six through eight.

All students on the team must attend at least one practice each week and some of the competitions. Practices will be held from 3:15 to 4:15 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 7:15 to 7:50 a.m. Fridays in 242 Metcalf School with Mr. Basolo and in 235 Metcalf School with Ms. Kane.

The first practices will be held the week of January 11. Any student interested in being on the team this year should attend at least one of the practices—Tuesday, January 12; Thursday, January 14; or Friday, January 15—of our first week.

There will be a Parent Informational Meeting at 4:30 p.m. January 14 in Mr. Basolo’s room, 242. Additional information including the schedule will be discussed.
