Have you ever been worried about a friend but weren’t sure how to help? Student Counseling Services is excited to launch Alliance for Change, a hands-on training to help students recognize when their friends might be struggling with something and to teach students how they can help these friends.

In an interactive format, participants will learn how to recognize the signs that someone is in need and learn ways to approach that person and to talk with them about their concerns.  The training takes place in four 90-minute sessions over two weeks. The time commitment is relatively short, but the payoff is big!  Students who participate will walk away with a deeper understanding of themselves and others, as well as enhanced communication skills that will follow them into their careers.
