Supporting Completion Goals in Illinois“: The Illinois 60 by 25 Network recently gathered in Springfield for its annual meeting. The coalition of business, funders, nonprofit representatives, and educators gathered to recognize and enhance the work occurring throughout the state within regional leadership communities. These communities are tasked with improving career pathway systems and postsecondary degree completion rates in their respective regions to realize the goal of 60 percent of the state’s residents possessing a postsecondary degree or credential by 2025.

Coalition for Community Schools has created a page with information on how the Every Student Succeeds Act supports funding for community schools. There are several resources available including the coalition’s popular webinar An Overview of the Every Student Succeeds Act and What It Means for Community-School Partnerships.”

Supporting Postsecondary Student Success: A Tactical Guidebook. Community partnerships must build strong support systems inside and outside the classroom to help students complete their postsecondary programs. In an effort to support these collaborations, the Institute for Higher Education Policy (IHEP), supported by Lumina Foundation, developed this tactical guidebook to explain how community sectors work together to ensure that all students succeed in college and go on to high-quality employment. Use this guidebook to learn more about how different communities target supports to underserved student populations to eliminate equity gaps in student retention and success.
