The College of Applied Science and Technology (CAST) will host a day devoted to women in leadership on Thursday, April 14. This new event is part of the annual Science and Technology Week.

The morning will begin with keynote speaker Ann Marie, a recognized female leader in technology by Forbes. In addition to her many accomplishments in risk management and relationship development, she also co-hosts a podcast/talk show called Turning Point on WGN.

Attendees will learn about the many paths to success and the important role leadership plays in a woman’s life. Following the morning keynote there will be roundtable discussions with alumni on topics such as job searching, asking about promotions, workplace culture, interview attire, and balancing work and life. Once the roundtable discussions conclude, there will be a lunch for all attendees. The event will wrap up around 12:45 p.m.

“Seven out of eight CAST academic departments graduate female students into male-dominated fields,” said Interim Dean Jan Murphy. “This event is one way for us to start a dialogue and ensure that our students are prepared to enter the workforce.”
