Tim Hunt

Tim Hunt, author of The Tao of Twang, will present Illinois State University’s College of Arts and Sciences Spring Lecture at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, in the Old Main Room in the Bone Student Center.

A professor of English at Illinois State, Hunt will give a talk titled, “The Awkward Marriage: Speaking, Writing, and (Digital) Media.” The event is free and open to the public. A reception will follow the lecture.

Hunt is also the author of collections of poetry that include Kerouac’s Crooked Road: The Development of a Fiction; Fault Lines; and the chapbooks Redneck Yoga and White Levis. His scholarly works on Robinson Jeffers have been published in volumes by the Stanford University Press.

With more than 70 poems published in journals, Hunt’s work has appeared in CutBank, Epoch, Free Lunch, Ironwood, ISLE, Natural Bridge, Quarterly West, Spillway, Spoon River Poetry Review, and Tar River Poetry.

Hunt earned a Ph.D. in American literature from Cornell University.

The Arts and Sciences Lecture Series was established in 1968 as a means of honoring scholars within the College. One faculty member has been chosen each semester since the inception.
