Understanding local drinking water will be the focus of the next University Club (U-Club).

Associate Professor of Geography-Geology Catherine O’Reilly and Associate Professor of Biological Sciences Bill Perry will present a talk titled, “Water, water everywhere but what do you drink and where does it really come from?” on Friday, March 25, in the Faculty/Staff Commons at the Bone Student Center.

The event will begin at 3:30 p.m., with the talk starting at 4:30 p.m.

O’Reilly and Perry’s research is focused on the cleanliness of water in streams that drain into Bloomington’s reservoirs. They are part of a project to monitor the water quality in streams entering Lakes Bloomington and Evergreen. They are also examining different strategies that farmers could use that might improve water quality. The goal is to maintain or improve clean drinking water for local communities.

All faculty, staff, annuitants, and guests are welcome to attend. Additional information about U-Club events and activities can be found on the University Club website. Continued program support is provided by the Office of the Provost and the Office of the President.
