The Illinois Shakespeare Festival (ISF) Touring Company will honor the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s death with an abridged production of Romeo & Juliet and slices of cake for the audience. 

CAKESPEARE! will be held outside the Center for the Performing Arts on the south end of the Illinois State University Quad at 4 p.m. Friday, April 22. The ISF Touring Company will put on a brief 40-minute performance of Shakespeare’s tragic love story, Romeo & Juliet.

In getting ready for the 39th season, the Illinois Shakespeare Festival welcomes theatre lovers and sweet tooth aficionados alike. This event is free and open to the public.
