Richard Goldfarb will present “Gold Metallogeny and Earth Evolution” at 3 p.m. Friday, September 9, at Felmley Hall of Science Annex, Room 133. The event is free and open to the public

Studying gold deposits in North America, China, and central Asia, Goldfarb’s work has been published in journals such as Economic Geology and Geology.

Goldfarb, the U.S. Geological Survey and Society of Economic Geology Honorary Lecturer, received his Ph.D. from University of Colorado and is an adjunct professor at the Centre for Exploration Targeting (CET). He is a fellow with the Society of Economic Geologists, an honorary lifetime member of the Society for Geology Applied to Mineral Deposits, and the vice-president of the International Association for Gondwana Research.
