Blanca Miller, MCN, was named Top Registered Nurse by the International Nurses Association.

Presentations
Jeffrey Barrett, MAT, presented a paper co-written with Craig Cullen, MAT, at the 13th International Congress on Mathematics Education in Hamburg, Germany. The title of the paper was “Investigating the Intersection of Spatial Measurement and School Mathematics.”

Ali Riaz, POL, presented “A Taxonomy of Political Violence in South Asia” at the European Conference on South Asian Studies at the University of Warsaw, Poland. He was the co-organizer of the panel “Understanding Political Violence in South Asia.”

Andrew Hartman, HIS, delivered a talk on the theme of the culture wars at Aix-Marseille University in France.

Li Zeng, THD, presented a paper titled “New Aesthetics in Fantasy Wuxia Films: Immobilizing the Warrior in a Performative Digital Space,” at the Research Institute for Digital Culture and Humanities Conference, Hong Kong Open University, July 4-6, 2016.

Ross Kennedy, HIS, presented “The American Neutralism and Wilsonism” for the Venice Foundation in Italy.

Fred Smith, ANT, published “Human skeletal evidence for the peopling of North America: A palaeoanthropological and historical perspective” in Human Origins Sites and the World Heritage Convention in the Americas of the UNESCO World Heritage Papers.

James Alstrum, LAN emeritus, published two chapters titled “Colombian poetry from the colonial period to Modernismo: 1500–1920” and “Modern Colombian poetry: From modernismo to the twenty-first century” in the new book from Cambridge University Press, A History of Colombian Literature.
