SUPs, or Stand-up Paddleboards, are a popular new addition on the water sport scene. The Adventure program offers SUP rentals and outdoor SUP trips every year, and the program is hosting SUP workshops in the pool to prepare you. SUPs can be tricky at first, but Adventure is here to help.

There will be two free SUP workshops held on September 15 and 29 from 8 to 9 p.m. at the Student Fitness Center pool. Registration is not required, but those who do will have priority over the first-come-first-serve spots.  Adventure leaders will provide instruction on skills such as balancing, standing, and paddling on a SUP board.

No experience is necessary to attend these workshops. After practicing your new skills in our pool, put them to use in real-life with our upcoming trip to Dawson Lake on October 2.

“Many people want to go on our SUP trips but they are nervous about being on the boards for the first time,” said Assistant Director Rachel Iversen. “These workshops are a great way to get comfortable with the way they move before exploring a lake with our Adventure Team.”
