Diversity Advocacy and Health Promotion and Wellness have once again collaborated to organize Sister Circles, a one-day workshop set for September 24 from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. in the Escalante Room in East Campus.

Sister Circles is designed to inspire and empower women on Illinois State’s campus to begin creating positive change in their own state of wellness.

Attendees will learn and participate in various forms of creativity and expression from a diverse array of cultures. This year’s event will also feature keynote speaker, Dr. Carrie Barron, and a signing of her book, The Creativity Cure.

“Our goal is to help students gain a sense of solidarity, self-esteem, self-awareness, spirituality, empowerment, identity, and development,” said Jade Triplett, graduate assistant in Diversity Advocacy.

Triplett encourages students to attend this event because it will help students expand their minds to different activities, cultures, and enhance their overall wellness.
