Monday, September 19 • 1–4 p.m.

This is an introduction to Microsoft Word’s basic tools. You will learn to create new documents, enter and edit text, and save files. Registration is required.

Screencast-O-Matic Pro
Tuesday, September 20 • 9 a.m. to noon

Screencast-O-Matic is inexpensive, web-based software that allows you to record and narrate videos from your desktop. This workshop explores how to use this service to create material for a flipped, blended, or online course. Registration is required.

InDesign: Introduction
Wednesday, September 21 • 9 a.m. to noon

Get an introduction to this page layout editor, including a tour of basic tools. Learn to place and move graphics and text to create an aesthetically pleasing format for printing. Registration is required.

ReggieNet: Tests and Quizzes
Thursday, September 22 • 1–4 p.m.

This workshop takes a more in-depth exploration of the Assessment tools available in ReggieNet, including Tests & Quizzes, Assignments, and Drop Box. Learn the options available for different types of assessment, the limitations of the assessment tools, and instructional strategies for promoting academic integrity. Prerequisite: Introduction to ReggieNet. Registration is required.

Future Professors Development Circle
Friday, September 23 • 10–11 a.m.

Explore pedagogical issues, effective and disruptive teaching strategies, and gain confidence in your ability to teach at the college level. This professional development circle helps graduate students to teach in the academy, whether they are currently teaching, working as a teaching assistant, or considering teaching as a career path. Share teaching tips, tricks, and get support from other future professors. Although the topic of each meeting will be based on chapters in the award-winning book, What the Best College Teachers Do (Harvard UP, 2004), there are no “required” readings. No registration necessary.
