The Illinois Report Card is a great source for information about public schools across Illinois. This online school report card goes beyond test scores to present a complete view of schools and school districts. Visit their website here.

Illinois launches 3 youth-centered social-services initiatives. (Rock River Times – October 6). Officials in the Governor’s Cabinet on Children and Youth are moving forward with three programs that not only will help Illinois’ youth, but they hope will also save taxpayers money down the line. One of the programs is a youth-apprenticeship initiative will offer a pipeline from education to employment and another agency initiative focuses on increasing the early-childhood education workforce. Read more

Illinois Communities Lead Change Efforts Using the ABLe Change Framework. In Plan Partner Act’s blog, they describe what the ABLe Change process is and the pilot training program that is part of the Consortium for Community Systems Development project.  The program is jointly funded through the generous support of the Race to top- Early Learning Challenge Grant and Grand Victoria Foundation.

Analysis of public investments in youth ages 8-25: Over the past 15 months, Children’s Home + Aid, the Federation for Community Schools, Sargent Shriver National Center on Poverty Law and United Way of Illinois have been working with Maple Grove Objective and the Forum for Youth Investment on an analysis of public investments in youth ages 8-25. We’ve appreciated the input that many of you have provided through the course of this effort. We are ready to release the full analysis and are pleased to invite you to a presentation and discussion, October 27, 2016 from 2pm-4pm. The presentation will be held at 125 S.
