Illinois State University’s Career Center will host the Nursing Fair on Thursday, November 17, 2016, to connect nursing students and alumni with employers from hospitals, social service agencies, and other organizations seeking to hire candidates for full-time openings or externships/internships. The Nursing Fair will be held from 12:30–3 p.m. in Hancock Stadium Club.

Students from majors in health sciences, communication sciences and disorders, and social work are also invited.

“Even students who aren’t seeking full-time employment yet should still come to the fair,” said Career Center Career Advisor Megan Kayfish. “It’s a great opportunity for students to learn how a career fair works, learn about the job search process at various organizations, and to network with employers.”

A full list of employers attending the fair is available on the Career Center Guide on the Illinois State University App, available for free on the App Store or Google Play Store. Free professional headshot photos will also be available at the fair from 12:30–1:30 p.m. Students can also print their résumé on free résumé paper at the Career Center.

Fair preparation

Students interested in seeking employment at the fair are encouraged to come prepared for on-the-spot interviews. The Career Center provides Interview Stream, an online interview tool that allows students to record themselves answering interview questions.

Students should also bring plenty of copies of their résumé. For students needing assistance, late-night résumé reviews will be held October 10–12 from 9–10:45 p.m. at Milner Library’s third floor study area. Those unable to attend late-night résumé reviews can also attend drop-in hours.
