Your overall well-being is closely tied to the health of your environment. For more than 10 years, Health Promotion and Wellness has partnered with the Office of Sustainability to host the Healthy You Healthy Earth Wellness and Sustainability Fair. This fair explores the important intersection of personal and environmental wellness.

This year, Healthy You Healthy Earth will take place from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. Wednesday, November 2, in the Brown Ballroom of the Bone Student Center. During the event attendees will be able to visit with campus and local organizations representing all seven dimensions of wellness, learn valuable information, enjoy snacks, and win prizes. This is a free event open to all students, faculty, staff, and friends of the University.

Each year presentations are given on environmental wellness-related topics. Presentations are held in the Brown Ballroom and an announcement will be given in the ballroom to remind attendees prior to start. This year’s event will feature the following presentations:

  • 11 a.m.–“Your Skin is So Soft: Examining Personal Care Products”
    Liza Alonzo

  • 12:15 p.m.–“Fair Trade, Organic, or All Natural? Understanding Food Labels and What They Really Mean for Our Health and the Environment”
