The December Registered Student Organization (RSO) spotlight is the Multicultural Greek Council (MGC). Advised under Fraternity and Sorority Life, MGC serves as a governing body that seeks to maintain high standards in the life of culturally based fraternities and sororities.

Currently, there are eight member organizations involved with MGC, with the potential to add more by the end of the spring semester. MGC also collaborates with other Greek councils, RSOs, and the University administration.

The council seeks to unify organizations with MGC by promoting higher education, providing community service opportunities, and enhancing leadership abilities. This semester, the council was busy editing its constitution and electing new executive members for the upcoming year.

“One of my favorite things about advising this council is supporting and celebrating goals made by members,” said Shantira Norris, the specialist for Fraternity and Sorority Life. Norris said the culture of MGC is not only an organization but a family.
