An introduction to Microsoft Excel: Topics include basic features such as spreadsheet arrangement (rows, columns, and cells), entering, editing, and formatting data. Also, learn about formulas and graph creation. Registration is required.

Clickers: Introduction
Monday, November 7 • 1 to 4 p.m.

Clickers are audience response devices which allow instructors to poll a face-to-face class in real time, displaying the results, and engaging students in their learning. Responses can be recorded and incorporated into grades in ReggieNet. This workshop is designed for those who have not used clickers before at Illinois State and wish to incorporate this powerful technology into their classes starting in the fall. You will explore the latest, cloud-based polling system from TurningPoint, the official vendor for campus. Discover how to integrate polls into your PowerPoint presentations to create interactive lectures and keep your students engaged in the course material. Registration is required.

Photoshop: Exploring Advanced Tools

Get an overview of the workflow of creating a single complex (but not too complex!) image. See how a number of tools interact to create a single finished work. Registration is required.

ReggieNet: Tests and Quizzes
Wednesday, November 9 • 9 a.m. to noon

This workshop takes a more in-depth exploration of the Assessment tools available in ReggieNet, including Tests & Quizzes, Assignments, and Drop Box. Learn the options available for different types of assessment, the limitations of the assessment tools, and instructional strategies for promoting academic integrity. Prerequisite: Introduction to ReggieNet. Registration is required.

CTLT’s Early-Career Faculty Circles offer faculty in their first, second, or third year of service at ISU a combination of professional development and peer support. Join us for a series of lively conversations about surviving and thriving in the academy. Topics are based on chapters from Teaching What You Don’t Know by Therese Huston. Participants will receive a copy of the book and an executive summary of each chapter. Come to either the Wednesday or Thursday session. No registration necessary.

Screencast-O-Matic Pro

Screencast-O-Matic is inexpensive, web-based software that allows you to record and narrate videos from your desktop. This workshop explores how to use this service to create material for a flipped, blended, or online course. Registration is required.

Outlook
Thursday, November 10 • 1 to 3:30 p.m.

Outlook combines mail, calendar, and task list functions in program. Get a tour of Outlook’s most important features, including mail organization, creating contact lists, scheduling meetings, and sending and receiving files. You will also compare the desktop version of Outlook with the Mail and Calendar functions found through your online Office 365 account. Registration is required.

Creating Articles for News.IllinoisState.edu
Thursday, November 10 • 2 to 3 p.m.

Learn how to use the News.IllinoisState.edu content management system, powered by WordPress, to add news articles, tag them to feed to multiple locations (including your website), insert images, photo galleries, and more. This workshop is open to faculty and staff only. Registration is required.

Foundations of Diversity and Inclusion: Privilege and Power
Friday, November 11 • Noon to 1:15 p.m.

How do privilege and power function through society, and how does it affect you personally? By reflecting on this, you can identify strategies to become more inclusive in your teaching and in the workplace. This seminar will help you better understand your own multiple identities and the presence and absence of privileges based on your identities. By the end of the workshop, you will be able to analyze how privilege and power exist and function in U.S. culture and how they impact your view of the world. Participants are welcome to bring a lunch to this discussion. Registration is required.
