Performances will be held at the Center for the Performing Arts Theatre and will run through December 9.

This beloved American holiday classic comes to the stage as a captivating 1940s radio broadcast. The radio play, like the classic film, follows George Bailey as he realizes that life is not always ideal. As he considers ending his life on Christmas Eve, an angel appears and shows him how terrible his loved ones’ lives would be without him.

“It’s a Wonderful Life (A Live Radio Play) promises to be a fun, heart-warming night at the theater,” Director Connie de Veer said. “A talented cast of 10 versatile actors play all the roles, do all the sound effects, and even present a preshow with holiday songs and an audience sing-along!”

Performances are scheduled for December 2-3 and 6-9 at 7:30 p.m. and December 3-4 at 2 p.m. The preshow sing-along begins 30 minutes before each performance.

A special alumni event is planned for Friday, December 9. This family friendly evening will include hors d’oeuvres, a holiday craft activity, classic carols by the Illinois State Madrigals, and an appearance of Reggie Redbird before the evening performance. Purchase your tickets for December 9 by Friday, December 2, online or by calling Alumni Relations at (309) 438-2586.
