What should you take away from your students' end-of-semester evaluations?

Let’s Talk Teaching: About those student evals …

It’s that time of year, when students turn the proverbial tables on their instructors and evaluate us. But student evaluations of our teaching are neither something we should dread, nor something we should read too much into. How do you strike a balance that lets you use those end-of-term feedback surveys as a positive tool for reflection? Claire and Jim explore what you should and shouldn’t worry about, the virtue of the “long view,” and more.

Let’s Talk Teaching is a free podcast for instructors at the Illinois State University, produced by the Center for Teaching, Learning, and Technology. You can listen to past episodes and subscribe using your favorite podcast app or through iTunes by going to CTLT.IllinoisState.edu/Podcast.

This is our last episode for the semester.  We’ll be back with new editions of Let’s Talk Teaching in January. Until then … have a great winter break!
