Performances and Presentations
Angelo Favis, MUS, taught intensive workshops and masterclasses at Mahidol University in Bangkok, Thailand; Ho Chi Minh Conservatory of Music in Saigon, Vietnam; Sekolah Musik-Yayasan Pendidikan Musik in Jakarta, Indonesia; and the University of the Philippines College of Music. He was the guest soloist in Joaquin Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez with the Saigon Philharmonic Orchestra, and performed solo recitals at SM-YPM in Jakarta and the U.P. College of Music, where he gave the first Asian performances of Roy Magnuson’s, MUS, thin, blue Smoke, which was written for Favis.

David Cleeton, ECO, participated in a virtual roundtable in the Conversations on Europe series titled “Free Trade or Protectionism?  Isolation Amidst Globalization.” This series is organized by the European Studies Center at the University of Pittsburgh and brings together an audience centered at European Union Centers at universities around the U.S.

Ali Riaz, POL, presented a book talk titled “Bangladesh: Beyond the Binaries” at Columbia University in New York. Organized by the Institute of South Asian Studies.

Craig C. McLauchlan, CHE, presented “Continuing the Investigations into the Ideal Coordination Geometries of Vanadium‐based Enzyme Inhibitors,” at the 10th International Vanadium Symposium, Taipei, Taiwan.

Mary Dyck and Nancy Novotny, MCN, authored “Scope of Practice of Licensed Nurses in Illinois Nursing Homes,” which Dyck presented at the Gerontological Society of America in New Orleans.

Ani Yazedjian, FCS, participated in a symposium entitled Academic administration and leadership: Experiences of five women in family science at the National Council on Family Relations Annual Conference in Minneapolis.

Kathleen Lonbom, Milner Library, presented “Speaking of Art: Exploring Paths to Make Digital Image Collections Accessible” at the International Federation of Library Associations & Institutions: Libraries Serving Persons with Print Disabilities Preconference in Louisville, Kentucky.

Kevin Hart, MUS, had several performances with the Kevin Hart Trio. Highlights include a jazz presentation/performance for children and families at the Urbana Free Library and a jazz presentation/performance for the ISU Senior Professionals at Jazz UpFront. Hart’s Vibe Tribe band also performed a concert at the Pekin Public Library.
