Diversity Advocacy set to host annual Black and Latino Male Summit

Attendees from the Black and Latino Male Summit listen to a featured speaker

Diversity Advocacy will sponsor Illinois State University’s fifth annual Black and Latino Male Summit scheduled for Saturday, March 25. The one-day conference will be held in the Bone Student Center from 9 a.m.–3 p.m.

This year, the theme will be “Beyond the Color: The Pursuit of Happiness.” The goal for those who attend will be to learn, network, and build connections within the community. During the conference, participants will create an environment of camaraderie, discuss issues affecting Black and Latino male communities, and maximize opportunities for coalition, education, and workforce readiness.

The conversations that will occur at the summit are beneficial to everyone. “While this is a summit for men of color, anybody is welcome to attend. We want to build connections and community,” Diversity Advocacy coordinator Hurdylyn Woods said.
