The Town of Normal launched a new public bike sharing service on March 20 that includes four rental stations on the Illinois State University campus. Bike Share 309 gives residents and visitors access to 49 bikes throughout Bloomington-Normal via a mobile app.

The on-campus bike stations are located at Cardinal Court, Schroeder Hall, Tri-Towers, and Watterson Towers.  Five additional stations are located throughout the community: Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, Connie Link Amphitheatre, Hansen Student Center at Illinois Wesleyan University, Museum Square in downtown Bloomington, and Uptown Normal.

The cost to use a bike is $3 per hour, or riders can take advantage of a $40 annual membership that includes one free hour per ride. Local universities receive discounted pricing on annual memberships.

To take advantage of this service, download the Zagster Mobile App, free for iPhone and Android users, or join the program online.
