Effective March 31, 2017, employees who have not enrolled in direct deposit will be required to pick up their paycheck at the University Payroll Office.

The University Payroll Office is located at 100 South Fell Street, in Suite E in Uptown Crossing. Checks can be picked up during normal business hours of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Checks are not released earlier than the date appearing on the check and only directly to the employee. Employees must present a photo ID to pick up their check and are required to sign a check distribution list.

The University offers direct deposit to any financial institution in the United States. All employees of the university are eligible for direct deposit and it is the recommended payment method. With direct deposit, an employee may allocate their pay between multiple accounts, such as checking, savings, money market, and IRA accounts. Direct deposit assures that employees’ paychecks are in their designated accounts on payday even if they are sick or on vacation.

No paychecks are to be mailed home without written permission from employee. If an employee has a paycheck that they need mailed, the employee should complete the “Mailed Paycheck” form and deliver it to the University Payroll Office in person, by fax at (309) 438-3357, or by email at Payroll@IllinoisState.edu on or after payment date. The form may be located on the University Payroll website under the section Forms.

Please note that a mailed check may only be requested on or after the scheduled payment date. The paycheck will be mailed to the mailing address the employee has on file via iPeople. For help changing this address, please view the Human Resources page regarding address changes.
