A Safe Zone training session will be from 9-11 a.m. Friday, April 7, in the Student Services Building.

In an effort to provide support to our lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) community, the Dean of Students Office has created Safe Zone. Safe Zone provides students, faculty, and staff the opportunity to create safe spaces on campus that are highly visible and easily identifiable to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) persons. These Safe Zones are spaces where support and understanding are readily available and bigotry and discrimination are not tolerated.

During the two-hour orientation session, participants engage in a mock coming-out exercise, discuss case studies, and receive resources and follow-up activities.

Registration is required.
