Berglind found the robotics and programmable logic controller (PLC) classes helped give him a general PLC and robotics background while the capstone course prepared him to work with customers and their processes. His foundation in engineering technology, project management, and quality management has helped to propel him into higher decision-making roles at Genesis Systems. Recently, Berglind helped the company prepare for the introductory phase of the aerospace accreditation approval process.

This recruiting trip was his first trip back to Illinois State University in a professional capacity. He interviewed engineering technology graduating students for positions as applications engineers, controls engineers, and service engineers.
