Lori Riverstone-Newell

Professor Lori Riverstone-Newell was featured in WalletHub.com’s recent piece about states with the best and worst taxpayer return on investment (ROI).  Serving as an expert in state and local affairs, Riverstone-Newell describes the ways that states and localities can make their goals, budgets, and overall finances more efficient, effective, and transparent to taxpayers. She notes, for example, that one of the most common ways that taxpayer dollars are wasted is by the proliferation of smaller localities existing side by side. “Operating two small, contiguous localities is much more expensive that operating one that is medium sized.” You can find the report here.
