Mt. Hood reflected in a lake

We talk a lot about reflection and learning, but how do we actually make it work in our classes?

Let’s Talk Teaching: Reflection

“Reflection” is one of those terms you read a lot about when it comes to teaching and learning. It’s also one of those concepts that sounds natural but can be surprisingly hard to apply in practice.

CTLT Director Claire Lamonica and Jim Gee unearth examples of how it can be used, practically, in teaching, and how it can help students truly master course content. They discuss probing questions, exam wrappers, rubrics, and more—and, of course, reflection isn’t just beneficial to students!

Let’s Talk Teaching is a free podcast for instructors at the Illinois State University, produced by the Center for Teaching, Learning, and Technology. You can listen to past episodes and subscribe using your favorite podcast app or through iTunes by going to CTLT.IllinoisState.edu/Podcast.
